Our approach to hand-feeding and weaning the babies is one that we believe is best suited for the health and well-being of the birds.

We love parrots, and we offer these beautiful birds for sale in Indiana. We source our birds from professional (clean) breeders who are routinely lab tested for disease. We clutch pair (bring in babies from the same clutch, meaning that they are siblings) if possible, as we believe that doing this eases stress on the baby birds.

We hand-feed with Roudybush Formula 3 and wean the babies onto Harrisons High Potency Formula (add link to Harrisons Video), which are, in our opinion, the best bird foods on the market. Our choices are health-driven not cost-driven-after all, they eat like birds.

It has been said that a bird learns 70% to 85% of all it will ever know while still in the nest. Here at the Parrot City nursery, we take this pivotal time very seriously, nurturing these incredible babies in an effort to help them accept us "lowly humans" into their flock. Once the babies have reached the "fledge stage," we begin "target training," which has been proven to be a great teaching tool, not only for the young birds, but for the new owners as well.
